The Firduo Manatee 100 is a 75V / 100A continuous water-cooled VESC-compatible ESC built for eFoil, electric hydrofoil, electric surfboard, and high-current BLDC motor applications. Housed in a corrosion-resistant, pressure-resistant waterproof aluminum enclosure, the Manatee 100 delivers sustained high-current performance with large-flux water cooling and 6× IRF7769L MOSFETs rated at 100V / 200A each.

Pre-installed with custom firmware 5.03 (13S default) and fully compatible with VESC Tool 3.01 for motor detection, parameter tuning, and telemetry. Available in two variants: ESC only or ESC + 3× Waterproof Connectors bundle.

⚠️ Important: The power cord, motor cable, and port cable connections are not waterproof — seal all connections appropriately before use in water.

1. Connect the Manatee 100 ESC to your PC via Micro USB
2. Open VESC Tool 3.01 and click Read Parameters
3. Set motor current limit to 150A
4. Click Write Parameters to save
5. Run motor auto-detection wizard before first water use

Pre-installed with custom firmware 5.03 — no firmware update required out of the box. Contact our support team for a pre-configured setup file for the 65162 or 65111 motor combination.

Q1: Is this ESC compatible with VESC Tool?
Yes — the Manatee 100 is compatible with VESC Tool 3.01 for motor detection, parameter configuration, and throttle curve tuning. Connect via the included Micro USB cable. Custom firmware 5.03 is pre-installed and optimized for eFoil use at 13S — no update required for standard builds.

Q2: What battery configuration is recommended?
The Manatee 100 supports up to 75V (16S max). Factory default firmware is set for 13S (54.6V). For eFoil builds, 12S–13S LiPo or Li-ion packs are most common. that your battery's continuous discharge current matches your requirements and a BMS capable of sustaining the discharge rate.

Q3: Is the ESC waterproof?
The aluminum enclosure is waterproof to 5 meters, but the cable connection points (power cord, motor cable, port cable) are not waterproof. All cable entry points must be sealed with appropriate waterproofing (potting compound, heat-shrink with adhesive, or waterproof cable glands) before submerging or exposing to water spray.

Q4: Which motor does this ESC work best with?
The Manatee 100 is optimized for the Firduo 65111-150KV and Firduo 65162-120KV waterproof brushless motors for eFoil applications. Any BLDC motor within the ESC's voltage and current range is compatible — run motor auto-detection in VESC Tool for optimal performance with other motors.

Q5: Can I use this for e-bike or other non-water applications?
Yes — the Manatee 100 is suitable for eFoil, electric hydrofoil, e-bike, electric skateboard, and other high-current BLDC motor applications within its 75V / 100A rating. For non-water applications, it is strongly recommended to add a water cooling loop or an additional large heatsink at the bottom of the VESC—ensure sufficient active cooling or airflow to guarantee continuous high-current operation.
