πŸ› οΈ Setup Guide

  1. Install batteries β€” open the battery compartment on the remote and insert 2Γ— AAA batteries. Confirm polarity markings inside the compartment. Do not mix old and new batteries.
  2. Connect receiver to ESC β€” plug the receiver's signal wire into your ESC's throttle/PPM signal input port. Ensure receiver supply voltage (3.3–12V) matches your ESC's BEC output. Incorrect voltage will damage the receiver β€” check your ESC's BEC spec before connecting.
  3. Power on sequence β€” power on the remote first, then power on the ESC/receiver. The remote LED will indicate binding status. Most units auto-bind within 2–3 seconds.
  4. Verify binding β€” move the throttle trigger slowly. Confirm the ESC responds correctly (motor twitches or beeps). If no response, power cycle both units and repeat. Reduce distance between remote and receiver during initial binding if needed.
  5. Throttle calibration β€” if your ESC requires throttle endpoint calibration, follow your ESC's calibration procedure with the remote powered on and trigger at neutral/full positions as instructed. This step is required for most VESC-based ESCs on first setup.
  6. Test at low speed first β€” always test throttle response at low speed in a safe area before full-power runs to confirm correct direction, throttle linearity, and failsafe behavior (motor should cut power if signal is lost).

❓ FAQ

Q1: Is this remote compatible with VESC-based ESCs?
Yes. The receiver outputs a standard PPM signal, which is universally accepted by VESC, ESC, and all other mainstream ESC platforms. No special configuration is required on the ESC side beyond setting the input mode to PPM in VESC Tool. The receiver's 3.3–12V supply voltage range covers all common VESC BEC outputs.

Q2: The remote is not binding to my receiver β€” what should I try?
First, ensure you power on the remote before the receiver/ESC. If binding fails: (1) power cycle both units, (2) check battery level in the remote β€” low batteries are the most common cause of binding failure, (3) reduce distance between remote and receiver to within 1 meter during initial binding, (4) ensure no other 2.4GHz devices are actively transmitting nearby. If binding still fails, try replacing the AAA batteries with fresh ones.

Q3: Can I use this remote for eFoil or RC boat applications?
This remote is NOT waterproof and is not recommended for water sport applications. Even brief water exposure can permanently damage the remote. For eFoil, hydrofoil, or RC boat use, upgrade to the Firduo VX3 IP67 Waterproof Remote or the Firduo VX5 Waterproof Remote, which are purpose-built for marine environments.

Q4: What batteries does the remote use, and how long do they last?
The remote uses 2Γ— AAA batteries (not included). Battery life depends on usage frequency β€” typical sessions of 1–2 hours per day will yield several weeks of use per set of batteries. We recommend alkaline batteries for best performance and keeping a spare set in your kit bag. Rechargeable NiMH AAA batteries also work but may show slightly shorter range due to lower voltage (1.2V vs 1.5V).

Q5: Can I use multiple remotes/receivers simultaneously without interference?
Yes. The 2.4GHz protocol uses frequency hopping, so multiple paired sets can operate simultaneously without cross-interference, as long as each remote is bound to its own receiver. Do not attempt to bind one remote to multiple receivers simultaneously β€” only the last-bound receiver will respond. Each remote-receiver pair operates on its own hopping sequence after binding.
