🛠️ Setup Guide (Quick Start)

  1. Plan your wiring layoutthe anti-spark switch installs between the battery (+, -) output terminal and the ESC (+, -) input terminal. Refer to the wiring diagram above.
  2. Connect the input wire — solder or crimp the switch's input wire (from battery side) to your battery (+, -) output terminal. Use a connector rated for your maximum current (e.g., AS150, XT150, or Firduo 120A–250A waterproof connector).
  3. Connect the output wire — connect the switch's output wire to your ESC (+, -) input terminal. Ensure all connections are insulated and secure before powering on.
  4. Mount the switch — secure the aluminum PCB to your enclosure using the mounting holes. For sustained currents above 80A, attach a heatsink to the aluminum base using thermal silicone grease. Ensure adequate airflow around the switch.
  5. Wire the LED button — route the 12mm LED button to an accessible position on your enclosure. The button is pre-wired to the PCB — no additional wiring required. Mount using the 12mm panel cutout.
  6. Test the switch — with battery connected, press the button to lock ON (LED lights up). Verify ESC powers on. Press again to release OFF (LED off). Confirm ESC powers down. Check for any heat buildup after a short test run.
  7. Add heatsink if needed — if running sustained currents above 100A, Please use thermal grease to secure the aluminum heatsink to the back of the switch. Ensure the heatsink is not short-circuited to any wiring on the switch.

❓ FAQ

Q1: What is an anti-spark switch and why do I need one?
When you connect a high-capacity battery to an ESC, the ESC's capacitors charge instantly, drawing a large inrush current that creates a visible spark at the connector. Over time, this spark erodes connector contacts, causing resistance buildup and potential failure. An anti-spark switch uses MOSFETs to gradually ramp up voltage, eliminating the spark entirely. It also gives you a safe, convenient way to power your build on and off without disconnecting the battery.

Q2: What is the actual continuous current rating — 100A or 200A?
With the factory aluminum heatsink, the switch is rated for 100A continuous. To achieve 200A continuous, you need to attach an additional external radiator (recommended size: 20×12×1.7cm). The 1200A peak rating applies to brief inrush spikes only (milliseconds). For most electric skateboard and eBike builds, 100A continuous with the factory heatsink is sufficient.

Q3: My ESC has large capacitors. Will this switch work?
The switch is designed to handle ESC capacitor inrush, but output capacitance should be kept under 6,000μF for reliable operation. If your ESC or power distribution has higher capacitance, the switch may not operate correctly. Check your ESC specifications for total capacitance. Most single-ESC builds are well within this limit.

Q4: Is there short circuit or reverse polarity protection?
No. This switch has no short circuit protection and no reverse polarity protection. Always double-check polarity before connecting (red/positive to IN+, black/negative to battery negative). Never short circuit the output terminals. A short circuit will instantly destroy the MOSFETs and may damage your battery.

Q5: Can I use this switch for an eFoil or marine application?
Yes, the switch itself is compatible with eFoil voltage ranges (up to 60V / 14S). However, the switch body and wiring are not waterproof — you must house it in a waterproof enclosure and seal all cable penetrations. Use waterproof connectors (e.g. Firduo 120A Waterproof Connectors) on all external connections for marine builds.
