🛠️ Setup Guide
Select the correct variant — Both models have a maximum hardware current of 150A; the difference lies in the continuous current limit set in the software. Choose either Walrus 30A or Walrus 45A based on the motor's rated power and maximum continuous current. Setting the current limit is for motor protection.
Verify voltage compatibility — confirm your battery is within 6S–14S LiPo (22.2V–58.8V). Do not exceed 14S — overvoltage will damage the ESC. For SUP and kayak builds, 10S–14S is the most common range for the 65111 motor.
Connect motor phase wires — connect the 3× 10AWG motor cables (15cm) to your brushless motor phase outputs. Rotation direction can be corrected by swapping any two of the three phase wires — no ESC reprogramming required. Test rotation direction at low throttle before installing the propeller.
Connect battery cables — solder or connect the 10AWG battery cables (115cm Red/Black) to your battery. If using the “with plug” variant, connect the waterproof battery plug to your battery's matching socket. Use an anti-spark switch or pre-charge resistor to prevent connector arcing on first connection.
Connect signal cable to receiver — connect the PPM/PWM signal cable (White = signal, Red = BEC 6V, Black = ground) to your receiver's throttle channel. The Walrus has a built-in 6V/1A BEC — the Red wire powers your receiver directly. No separate BEC is required. Connect the VX3 receiver to the White signal wire and power it from the Red BEC wire.
