The Firduo T2000 Underwater Thruster is a high-performance electric propulsion unit engineered for DIY eFoil, electric surfboard, SUP, kayak, and hydrofoil builds. Delivering up to 32 KGF of thrust at 2000W rated power (3700W peak), the T2000 is built around a 65122-130KV motor with an 18N/6P internal structure — offering exceptional torque and efficiency for demanding water sport applications. 🛠️ Setup Guide

  1. Check voltage compatibility — confirm your battery pack is within the 6S–20S range. For eFoil and high-thrust applications, 12S–16S is recommended for optimal performance.
  2. Mount the thruster — insert into your board's fin box or custom bracket. Secure with the provided hardware. Route the motor cable away from the propeller and ensure clear water flow around the inlet.
  3. Connect to ESC — plug the 3× 8.0mm gold bullet connectors into your ESC phase outputs (A-B-C). Rotation direction can be reversed in ESC software (e.g. VESC Tool) if needed — no rewiring required.
  4. Connect ESC to battery — use a waterproof connector rated for continuous current ≥100A. Verify battery voltage is within range before powering on.
  5. Pair your remote — power on ESC first, then remote. Follow your remote's pairing procedure (see VX3 manual if using Firduo remote).
  6. Water test — start at low throttle (0.5 kW / ~13 KGF) in calm water. Check all connections are dry and secure before each session. Gradually increase power as you confirm stable operation.

Q1: What ESC do I need to run the T2000?
The T2000 requires an ESC rated for your battery voltage (6S–20S) and at least 52A continuous current (100A burst). We recommend the Firduo Manatee 100 Pro VESC for best compatibility — it's waterproof, VESC-based, and pre-matched to the T2000's power range. PPM and UART control are both supported.

Q2: What battery do I need, and is it included?
The T2000 supports 6S–20S (approximately 22–84V) battery packs. For eFoil and high-thrust applications, a 12S–16S LiPo or Li-ion pack with minimum 52A continuous discharge (100A burst recommended) is ideal. Battery is not included. The Firduo FD13S5P(5C,20AH,936Wh) fully waterproof battery is also compatible with the T2000 thrusters. Contact us if you need a recommendation for your specific build.

Q3: Is the motor truly waterproof? Can I run it in saltwater?
Yes. The T2000 motor is fully sealed for continuous underwater operation. The anodized aluminum alloy shell is corrosion-resistant and suitable for both freshwater and saltwater environments. Rinse with fresh water after saltwater use to extend service life. Ensure the motor cable exit point is sealed with waterproof connectors.

Q4: How do I reverse the rotation direction if the thruster spins the wrong way?
Rotation direction can be reversed in your ESC configuration software (e.g. VESC Tool) by swapping any two of the three phase wire connections in software — no physical rewiring is required. Alternatively, swap any two of the three 8.0mm bullet connectors physically if your ESC does not support software reversal.

Q5: Can I use the T2000 for an ROV, AUV, or non-surfboard application?
Yes. The T2000's fully waterproof motor, wide voltage range, and standard 8.0mm bullet connector output make it suitable for ROV, AUV, USV, and other high-thrust underwater propulsion applications. The UART/CAN interface on compatible ESCs (e.g. Manatee 100 Pro) supports autonomous or remotely operated vehicle integration.
